Who we are
At the Good Food Collective, we believe everyone deserves access to nourishing, wholesome food. We are a nonprofit coalition of food brands, experts, and organizations united in our mission of driving forward transparency and higher standards in the food industry, while empowering consumers to make more informed, healthier food purchases.
Through our collective efforts, we aim to rebuild consumer trust and advocate for a healthier, more sustainable future for generations to come.
What will the GFC do?
We will empower consumers with best in class education resources.
We will drive forward higher standards and transparency in food manufacturing, labeling and marketing.
We will work to increase accessibility of healthy packaged foods.
The GFC’s first collaborative initiative was to respond to the FDA’s proposed rule on Food Labeling: Front-of-Package Nutrition Information in the United States. We support efforts which help consumers easily identify how foods fit into a healthy diet, though we believe aspects of the FDA’s proposal could be improved.
In our response, we recommended a FOP nutrition labeling system that is mandatory, educational, design-forward and consumer-friendly. A nutrition labeling system that doesn’t just inform consumers, but empowers them. As a collective, we are excited to move forward with educating consumers, influencing and advocating for the implementation of mandatory Front-of-Package nutrition labeling that benefits both consumers and the food industry.
In 2026, more great things to come on how the Good Food Collective will work to empower consumers while driving forward higher standards, transparency and positive change across the food industry!

- Empowering consumers with knowledge to make healthy choices
- Food companies who commit to real food always being the primary ingredient

Never supporting:
- Using deceptive imagery on packaging
- Cleanwashing, greenwashing or use of misleading messaging on packaging or in advertising
- Limiting information helpful to consumers decision making
- Intentionally marketing unhealthy products to children
- Use of artificial and synthetic additives or ingredients such as dyes or flavors
